1. Who We Are

Renty Algeria operates rentydz.com, a car rental marketplace connecting customers with rental companies across Algeria. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what rights you have.

2. Information We Collect

When you use Renty, we collect:

  • Account data: name, email address, phone number, and password hash.
  • Identity documents (customers): national ID card and driving licence images, stored to help rental companies verify you.
  • Business documents (companies): commercial registration (RDC) for admin verification.
  • Booking data: cars booked, dates, pickup and drop-off locations.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device, and pages visited (via Google Analytics).
  • Cookies: a session cookie (auth_token) to keep you signed in.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Create and maintain your account.
  • Process and display your bookings.
  • Share your name, phone number, and ID documents with the rental company for an approved booking, so they can verify you at pickup.
  • Send you booking notifications and account-related emails.
  • Improve the platform through anonymous analytics.
  • Detect fraud and enforce our terms.

4. Sharing Your Data

We share your data only with the rental company handling your booking, with our service providers (hosting, email delivery, analytics), and when required by Algerian law. We do not sell personal data to advertisers.

5. Data Retention

We keep account data for as long as your account is active. Bookings and transaction records are kept for up to 5 years for legal and accounting purposes. Identity documents are kept only while your account exists; you can delete them through your profile at any time.

6. Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt; connections are encrypted over HTTPS; uploaded files are stored on Vercel Blob with access tokens; and sessions use HttpOnly, SameSite cookies. No system is perfectly secure, but we apply industry-standard safeguards.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information (you can update your profile at any time).
  • Delete your account and associated data (contact us).
  • Object to analytics tracking (disable cookies in your browser).

8. Cookies

We use one essential cookie (auth_token) to keep you signed in. Google Analytics sets additional cookies to measure page views. You can block cookies in your browser settings; doing so will require you to sign in on every visit.

9. Children

Renty is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has registered, contact us and we will remove the account.
